While much of the land on the plains is of a sandy nature, and very little grows in it, there is much more fertile ground on the east bank and we have been encouraging local folk to nurture produce...
Carrots, onions, lettuce, cabbage, bananas and even beetroot are grown assisting in supplying a healthy balanced diet. It is with these successful farmers that we reach out onto the plains assessing the growth potential of the soil and teaching folk to farm.
